MANILA Water Foundation successfully started, its month-long and nation-wide celebration of the 2015 Global Handwashing Day at SM City Clark on October 2, with approximately 1,000 people pledging to properly wash their hands and further spread this important advocacy.
The mall event drew in flocks of eager guests, as it featured several fun and interactive activities that allowed them to learn the value of proper handwashing in our daily lives and to take home prizes from the foundation and its partners at the same time.
"The turnout is really overwhelming and we at Manila Water Foundation are really ecstatic that we were able to share our advocacy on prosper handwashing to a lot of people. On behalf of the foundation, I would like to thank all of those who joined us in our kickoff event and encourage them to pass on everything that they learned to their families and communities," said Manila Water Foundation Executive Director Carla May Beriña-Kim.
Manila Water Foundation is set to visit more malls, schools, and communities all over the Philippines to reach more Filipinos and enjoin them to rally for the cause of proper handwashing. The celebration of the 2015 Global Handwashing Day will continue at Gaisano Mall Davao on October 7, Magugpo Elementary School Davao on October 8, Ayala Center Cebu on October 10, Good Shepherd Christian School in Mandaluyong on October 13, UP Town Center and Malanday Elementary School in Marikina on October 14, Trinoma and Bagong Nayon Elementary School in Antipolo on October 15, Enchanted Kingdom on October 17, Barangay
Malaban, Laguna on October 18, SM City Sta. Rosa on October 19, Manoc Manoc Elementary School and the Ati Community in Boracay on October 22, and D'Mall and Boracay Regency Hotel on October 23. The Mind Museum will also feature demos, proper handwashing techniques, and short trivia games at its Science Demo Area the whole month of October at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., together with a special Global Handwashing Day exhibit from October 15 to 18.
This month-long and nationwide celebration of the 2015 Global Handwashing Day is copresented by Unilever and Scholastic and sponsored by Globe, Enchanted Kingdom, Ascorbic Acid Ceelin, Ayala Malls, and Ayala Cinemas.
